| Lisa Dinhofer paints the figure to build her self-confidence as an artist and draftsperson. She enjoys drawing beautiful women with presence, like Barbara. She usually draws women as if they could rule the world, regardless of their size. Personality and character are the foremost ingredients to her nudes.
She views the body as a beautiful machine. Dinhofer states, “I don’t approve of the figure presented only as an erotic object. For me, it’s all about the strength and content of the character of my subject.” Contrary to the male perspective, which is often romanticized, Dinhofer feels that the female perspective is entirely different. |
