 Due to the great amount of interest in TheGreatNude Invitational, we have rescheduled the event at The Roger Smith Hotel for May 13 - 16, 2010 - allowing for the participation of some great artists and galleries (see below), and making this event truly exciting for the Figurative Arts community. Artists Odd Nerdrum, Richard T. Scott, Scott Goodwillie and Adam Miller have joined the exhibition, along with a number of galleries representing some of the world's most well-known figurative artists, including Forum Gallery. In addition, we are pleased to announce two new members to our Host Committee: Peter Trippi, editor of Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, and renowned art critic Donald Kuspit, who will be curating and writing an essay for our catalog.
Curators and Galleries who wish to exhibit at the Invitational will be happy to know about several new developments. Elizabeth Stevens & Company is now our shipping and logistics partner, making it easy for solo artists and curators to exhibit. We are also planning several Sketch Session Parties in coordination with other publications, auction houses, museum and private collector groups in order to bring an amazing and ellectic international audience of professionals and collectors into the Invitational. With Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine including us in their March/April issue, we are off to a great head-start. We'll also have a "mini-catalog" in the Dart Magazine Spring/Summer Issue, including discounts on advertising space for exhibitors.
TheGreatNude Invitational will feature 30 international exhibitors of contemporary figurative works by emerging to established artists in all media, styles and techniques showcaseing the nude. Exhibitors can present a solo or small group exhibit in the rooms of The Roger Smith Hotel. There will be a preview day for the media, arts professionals and VIPs, an opening night party, collector group tours, daily panel discussions on the resurgence of the figure and collecting, evening sketch parties and other exciting events in the planning.
With all of this, we have managed to keep the exhibitor fee affordable. There are three sizes of exhibition rooms with a corresponding exhibitor fee. For accepted exhibitors you can either pay in three installments or pay the whole fee by March 5, 2010 and receive a 10% discount.
